Opportunity & Challenge

Mori Luggage & Gifts is an established retailer of fine luggage and office gifts, with 30 stores throughout the Southeast.  Mori approached Speartek in 2005 with a need to update their brand to be consistent with offline branding changes.  They also wanted more control over their website.  Their website at the time was not very user friendly and didn’t match the Mori brand & identity. 

Strategy

A full redesign of the site that would complement a consumers in-store experience as many buyers in the store are driven there by first researching the product on the website.  Additionally, we focused on multiple ways of shopping including brand landing pages for key premium product lines and a powerful multi-filtered search tool. 

Solution

The launch of their redesigned site happened in the fall of 2005 and our relationship with Mori continued to grow as we evolved their solution with search engine optimization and an integration to their Microsoft Navision accounting system.

Continued Success

Since late 2005, the Mori Luggage website has generated well over a million dollars in direct online sales revenue and an additional similar level of sales through in-store purchases from online research.  Sales levels increased 40% in comparison to their prior ecommerce site.  After about a year with Speartek, we integrated transaction data so that invoicing and orders were automatically generated within Mori’s Navision accounting software.  In 2008 we improved website visibility through search engine optimization strategies.  In 2009 we launched a separate discount luggage website that is completely independent of the Mori Luggage site, but shares the same product database for administrative efficiency.  In 2010, we’ll be completely redesigning the Mori Luggage site.  By meeting the needs of our client, we have developed a long term relationship and continue to deliver successful projects.
