Mori Luggage & Gifts is an established retailer of fine luggage and office gifts with 30 stores located throughout the Southeast. Mori approached Speartek in 2005 with the need to be able to update their online presence to stay consistent with their offline branding changes. They needed to be able to control their web site in house, without hiring expensive developers.
Strategy
Speartek planned a full site redesign to complement Mori’s in-store experience. Research showed that many buyers visited the web site to browse products before coming to the store to make a purchase. The site needed to provide detailed, informative content about the products, and reflect the pleasant, helpful atmosphere of the stores and their staff. Additionally, Speartek included brand-landing pages for key premium product lines, and a powerful multi-filtered search function to provide customers with the most versatility and greatest value for their searches.
Solution
The all-new Mori Luggage & Gifts site launched in Fall 2005 and garnered high praise from Mori’s leadership. Speartek’s relationship with Mori continued to grow, and now includes additional projects such as search engine optimization and an integration into their Microsoft Navision accounting software.
Continued Success
Since launch, the Mori Luggage site has generated over a million dollars in direct sales revenue, and another million in additional sales through in-store purchases based on online research. Sales grew over 40% compared to their previous site. After Speartek completed the Navision integration, orders were automatically processed from the site, saving time and money for the client. In 2008, search engine optimization helped increase brand visibility, and drive more traffic. In 2009, Mori launched a separate discount luggage website that shares the same database for administrative efficiency. The long-term relationship Speartek enjoys with clients ensures that we understand our customers and their needs.
